This was not everyone's experience. The only time movies were mentioned by name from the platform was when somebody went off script. I know certain scifi/fantasy movies were mentioned as COs and higher ups in the circuit had their pet peeve movies to bug people about, but I know of no talk outline that mentioned movie titles. The only guideline that was mentioned through the years was not watching R rated movies or movies that featured 'demonism' or 'immorality' regardless of rating.

Never had an elder go through my music. If you went to Bethel, yea, that would happen.

I believe balance between both modern medicine and homeopathic/dietary methods for true health.

No. Homeopathy cannot and should not exist in any educated society. It is a belief in magic. While of course, diet effects your body and health, there is NO scientific methodology or theory as to how it can possibly work other than placebo effect. It has been disproven COUNTLESS TIMES.

JWs are rife with every alternative practice and multi-level marketing sceme out there.

Amway, Herbalife, Melaleuca, Shaklee, Noni juice, Excel Communications, 2Xtreme, etc etc etc. Some congregations become dominated by members involved in a certain company. The lack of critical thinking skills enables dubs to easily become involved in MLM scemes as well as the alternative medicine stuff.

Did you know about the organ transplant ban when you were a believer?

back when i was learning ttatt, i was shocked to read on jwfacts about the organ transplant ban from 1967 to 1980. this was a large piece of evidence for me that the society could not be god's organization.

growing up as an earnest witness, and living near the headquarters, i knew a lot of the organization's embarrassing history, and it didn't faze me, but i'd never heard of this ban before, and it shocked me.

it's gotten me wondering why no one i know ever talks about it, when it must have affected many witnesses during that time (or were they getting transplants on the sly?

It was all crap forwarded by people that didn't bother to even check Snopes. The hidden camera in your TV converter box!! The shark that attacked a helicopter!! Nephilim skeletons found!!!
